Awards: Student Section members are eligible to apply for a variety of awards related to the annual meeting, including the Real Brown travel awards, the Union of Concerned Scientists’ Eco-Service award, and the Outstanding Student Research in Ecology awardFor more info, click HERE

A voice in ESA programming: Members are directly involved in determining the topics of workshops and events for the annual meeting. Each year, the Student Section surveys the membership for feedback on the skills and subjects of greatest interest to young ecologists. As a member, you can help craft the annual meeting to your needs and those of other ecology students.

Leadership opportunities: The Student Section offers a variety of leadership opportunities within the society, including officer and liaison positions. These positions empower you to directly improve the annual meeting. In addition, Student Section members can contribute to our new blog to increase their visibility within the ecological community.

Being in the Student Section gives you the support needed to take on the challenges of affecting real change. It makes you realize how important your voice is.
